The well-known Nigerian singer Charles Oputa, better known by his stage name Charly Boy, has disclosed that he does not drink.
He said that even though he makes an effort to stop smoking, he frequently struggles with the addiction.

The unorthodox singer admitted that he occasionally enjoys alcoholic wine in a recent interview with actress Iyabo Ojo, but he made it clear that he does not drink regularly.

The 73-year-old said that his parents and grandparents lived long lives and attributed his fitness to both inherited causes and lifestyle choices.

He declared:

“I had the good fortune to develop the habit of consistently attending the gym and taking care of my physical health. You know, there are a lot of rumors circulated about people in the [entertainment] sector. However, I abstain from alcohol. I have never in my life consumed [alcohol]. However, on occasions when I feel like mingling, you add a little wine to it [laughs].

“I’m making an effort to stop smoking cigarettes with nicotine. Considering that it’s very bad for me. I believe that my longest period of abstinence was seven years. It and I have been at odds with one another. Sometimes I give up, then I come back.
