In order to minimize crashes on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway over the holiday season, drivers must observe speed limits, according to the Federal Road Safety Corps’ (FRSC) Ogun Command.

Tuesday in Ota, Ogun, Mr. Anthony Uga, the FRSC’s Ogun Sector Commander, offered the counsel in an interview with reporters.

In response to two distinct wrecks on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway that claimed two lives on Monday and two more on Tuesday, Uga stated that speed was a contributing factor in both incidents.

The FRSC has been informing and educating drivers on the importance of adhering to posted speed limits.

“They shouldn’t use the smooth and safe road conditions as an excuse to go over speed limits,” he stated.

He claimed that during the Yuletide, some drivers displayed automobiles that were malfunctioning mechanically.

Although FRSC officers were present to assist drivers, he noticed that some were still not following their advise.

In order to prevent traffic accidents, he suggested that drivers equip their cars with speed detectors.
