Anthony Elanga, a winger for Manchester United, left the club on Tuesday, citing the timing as the reason for his departure.
The winger has officially transferred to Nottingham Forest on a permanent basis.
On Tuesday, a statement posted to Forest’s website announced the player’s transfer.
United and the Reds agreed to a £15 million transfer, and the 21-year-old signed a five-year contract with United.
Elanga posted an Instagram message to United supporters in which he said goodbye.
The Sweden international stated further that he quit the team to devote more focus to his true passion, soccer.
Elanga stated, “It is the right time now for the perfect next step in my career,” after describing his accomplishments at the club.
