Havertz was called “a complete waste of time” by Sherwood, who also said that the Germany international is overvalued.
In addition, he questioned the former Chelsea player’s contributions to the Emirates Stadium.
Havertz was signed by Arsenal from Chelsea for an incredible €75 million during the summer transfer window.
Havertz, though, hasn’t exactly taken off at the North London club this season.
Thus far this season, in 17 appearances for Mikel Arteta’s team across all competitions, he has only managed one goal and one assist.
Sherwood told Premier League Productions, “Havertz is a complete waste of time.”
“I’m just not sure what he is.” I have no idea what he is. Is this guy ten? Nine, what? He is by no means an eight. He appears to be running around. He believes he’s too cool to perspire. I believe there are superior choices.
“From what I saw at the weekend, if a kid goes in and performs like he performs, you would never see him again,” he continued, adding that if it had been a rookie. That player is overvalued.
