I Don’t Feel Glad About My Childhood Abortion – Phyna

Josephine Ijeoma Otabor, better known as Phyna, the winner of Big Brother Naija’s “Level Up,” has disclosed that she is not proud of having an abortion when she was much younger.

In a recent podcast interview, Phyna talked about having an abortion when she was about 20 years old. She said that while she is not proud of the decision, she will retain the child if she becomes pregnant now.

She believes that women deciding to take morning after pills is equivalent to a pregnant person opting to have an abortion.

Says she:

I stopped talking about abortion since it’s clear that many bloggers try to misinterpret what I say to suit their needs. This occurred far too early ago, as I was already aware, at the age of, I believe, twenty years old, that I wanted to make a name for myself in the world.

“This occurred when I was younger, so it’s not anything I am proud of—nobody should be proud of it, really. I knew the struggles I faced. I’m not proud of what I went through, but let’s call a spade a spade. Nobody knew what I went through.
