The administration of Kwara State has informed school administrators that they will take action against them if they charge students or their families to take the statewide entrance exam on August 19, 2023.

The Kwara State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development issued the warning in a statement on Sunday, which was made public in Ilorin.

The notification informed the public that the statewide placement exam (common entry) for junior high schools would take place on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at 8 am sharp in all 16 local government districts.

The government of Kwara State is covering the costs of this test in full. Principals and vice principals are urged by the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development not to solicit funds from students or their families.

The government threatened “appropriate sanctions” against any principle or vice principal who committed such an illegal act.

Students should study for the test as well, as any cheating will not be accepted.
