Lemo, Akinmade, and others will be recognized at Ogun NIPR’s 2023 conference

On Thursday, four outstanding Nigerians will be recognized at the 2023 Annual Colloquium of the Ogun State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

According to a statement e-signed by NIPR Chairman Oluwaseun Boye and Secretary Kunle Olayeni, Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun will serve as the Special Guest of Honor during an event scheduled for the Cinema Hall at the June 12 Cultural Centre in Abeokuta.

Former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Dr. Tunde Lemo, OFR, two-time Commissioner of Ondo State and Senior Consultant to Governor Abiodun, Hon. Kayode Akinmade, former Board Chairman of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) Mrs. Ronke Sokefun, and property magnate Otunba Wole Ogunbayo were all named in the statement as recipients of awards.

The colloquium, titled “Pluralism and Public Opinion Management: Challenges and Prospects for a Sustainable Democracy in Nigeria,” would bring together experts to discuss Nigeria’s current challenges.
The event will feature Professor Adelaja Odukoya, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Lagos, as the Guest Speaker, as well as Professor Biyi Abosede, Ustaz Jubril Awwal, and Professor (Mrs.) Bolanle Akeredolu-Ale as discussants, and veteran journalist Eddie Aina as the moderator.

Prominent traditional rulers who are public relations veterans, such as the Olota of Ota, Oba Professor Adeyemi Obalanlege, and the Towulade of Akinale, Oba Olufemi Ogunleye, will attend the event presided over by NIPR National President Mallam Mukhtar Sirajo, fnipr.

The event’s organizers have stated that Governor Abiodun will speak on the topic of societal harmony and its importance in establishing a stable democracy in the country.

Mass Communication students from all over the world, as well as government officials, politicians, traditional leaders, religious figures, business moguls, and media moguls are all expected to show up to this year’s Annual Colloquium.
