Man United are considering recruiting an ex-Chelsea player to replace Ten Hag

Manchester United are set to increase their interest in former Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori, who is valued at roughly €40 million (£34 million).

Man United’s defensive options are currently limited due to the absence of crucial centre-backs Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez.

Raphael Varane returned to the Red Devils’ starting XI for their 1-0 Champions League loss to Bayern Munich in midweek, but the Frenchman’s future at Old Trafford is unknown.

Man United, on the other hand, would contemplate selling Varane in the January transfer window, with Bayern Munich and Saudi Arabia being two possible destinations.

If the 30-year-old Frenchman leaves Ten Hag’s side, Man United will almost certainly look for a replacement, with Tomori reportedly high on their wishlist, according to Italian outlet MilanWeb.

Tomori, who is presently on loan at AC Milan, has been a standout for the Serie A club.

The England international joined Milan from Chelsea in 2021 and has made over 100 appearances for them in all competitions.
