Alhaji Muhammadu Abali Ibn Muhammadu Idrisa, Emir of Fika and Chairman of the Yobe State Council of Traditional Rulers, has urged the management of the Yobe State Internal income Service to plug all income leakages.

When the management and staff of the Yobe State Internal Revenue Service paid him a courtesy visit at his palace in Potiskum town, the royal father made the call.

“You should double your efforts towards enlightening people on the importance of paying tax” , he went on to say.

In response, Idris Mohammed Disa, Acting Chairman of the Yobe State Internal Revenue Service, told the king that they were in his palace to seek royal blessings as the Service embarked on boosting its revenue production efforts in the state.

He went on to say that the decision was part of the state’s efforts to increase revenue creation.

The Service also organized a stakeholder sensitization meeting on the Inter State Road Tax Sticker (ISRTS) and Single Haulage Fees (SHFs) in Potiskum on Tuesday, December 19, 2023.

“Your Royal Highness, these are revenue streams introduced nationwide by the Joint Tax Board (JTB) to avoid multiple taxations on the nation’s highway.”

“Like many other states, Yobe State has since keyed in the programme,” he said.
