PSG won’t be fielding Mbappe against Lorient in the Ligue 1 matchup

According to ESPN, Kylian Mbappe is not in the Paris Saint-Germain roster for Saturday’s Ligue 1 opener against Lorient at the Parc des Princes.

The 24-year-old’s future is uncertain after being cut from the first squad by new boss Luis Enrique.

Mbappe might be suspended for PSG’s August matches against Lorient, Toulouse, and Lens.

The captain of France’s national soccer team has notified the French champions that he will not be extending his current contract, which is set to expire in June 2024.

Club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi insisted that Mbappe sign a new contract or be sold this summer, therefore the young player was left out of PSG’s preseason trip to Japan.

The attacker is being forced to work out with other “unwanted” players leaving PSG, such as Leandro Paredes, Georginio Wijnaldum, and Julian Draxler.
