The final group of Kwara pilgrims has returned to Ilorin from Mecca in Saudi Arabia

Approximately 3,550 Kwara State residents who traveled to Saudi Arabia to perform hajj in 2023 have returned home.

At 9 a.m. on Saturday, the final group of pilgrims landed at Ilorin International Airport.

The plane carrying the remaining 272 Kwara pilgrims left Jeddah International Airport in Saudi Arabia at around 0230hours on Saturday.

The visitors were all in good spirits after being greeted by friends and family.

Alhaji AbdulSalam AbdulKadir, Executive Secretary of the Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, was also there and confirmed the arrival of 272 pilgrims.

He acknowledged that one death had been reported to the state: that of Alhaji Busari Alao, a 70-year-old resident of Ilorin.
