The Presidency, through its spokesman Ajuri Ngelale, stated that President Bola Tinubu was fully prepared and equipped to take harsh measures if the crisis engulfing Rivers State politics was not resolved by Monday evening.
He stated that the President’s motivation for engaging in the case is not political.
On Monday evening, Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his immediate predecessor and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, agreed to end the state’s political problem, according to Ebantel.
President Tinubu and other stakeholders met with the two feuding factions and achieved a deal.
Ngelale declared on TV after the resolution was signed that the President acted as the nation’s father.
“The President’s motivation in this case is clearly not political.” He is the nation’s father.
“He is the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Chief of the Armed Forces.” It is his major obligation to guarantee that peace, stability, and security prevail across the country.
“This is a President who will act if he sees peace breaking down in any part of the country.” But, make no mistake, His Excellency, Mr President, was well prepared and equipped to take harsh measures if this settlement was not reached.
“So it is of great relief to the Rivers people and Nigerians at large that a resolution has been reached.”
