Posted by The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Oyo State has announced that it will run candidates in the upcoming municipal election.
The APC is the state’s main political party of opposition.
The Independent Electoral Commission of Oyo State (OYSIEC), according to a report in the EBANTAL has completed preparations to hold local government elections in the State.
A date in April 2024 has been set for the election.
Wasiu Olawale Sadare, the APC’s publicity secretary, issued a statement to EBANTAL reiterating the party’s commitment to voting.
Sadare declared, “The unanimous consensus at the stakeholders meeting conducted today at our (Oke-Ado) State secretariat was that we will participate with a view to winning majority of the available seats in the local government areas and local council development areas.
Since OYSIEC has written to us about the extension of the deadline for the conduct of primary, which is now August 31, 2023, I can promise that “by the time we are done with our final round of consultation on or before Monday, we will roll out a schedule of activities.”
