Hajiya Aishatu Yan Guru Bungudu Nahuche, a woman from Zamfara, was honored by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for her integrity after she returned $80,000 (about N60 million) that she had found while making the 2023 pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.

The president was pleased to be informed of the incident and directed the National Hajj Commission to organize a national press conference with the lady for record-keeping, as reported by Alhaji Musa Mallaha, chairman of the Zamfara State Hajj Committee, during a press briefing in his office.

However, by the time we heard from the commission, the woman had already been flown back to her home state in Nigeria after performing the Hajj.

Mallaha has announced that the First Lady of Zamfara State will publicly honor the woman, and that arrangements are still being made to include the governor in the event.

Mallaha, visibly pleased with the female pilgrim’s forthrightness, remarked that she brings honor to not only the people of Zamfara and Nigeria, but all Muslims throughout.

“Honesty is one of the major divine teachings embodied in the Quran as the main guide for Muslims,”he explained.
