Makinde consents to the PDP leader’s coronation in Oyo

The appointment of Prince Lasisi Olagbemileke Oladimeji Omogboye, a leader of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Surulere Local Government Area of Oyo State, as the next Aranyin of Iranyin has been authorized by Governor Seyi Makinde of the state.

Iranyin is a town located in the Ogbomoso geopolitical zone of the state, specifically in the Surulere Local Government Area.

With the passing of Oba Jimoh Oyelota, the role of Aranyin became vacant.

Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Mr. Olusegun Olayiwola, signed the letter confirming the PDP leader as the town’s traditional ruler.

In the letter, Olayiwola insisted that the appointment will go into effect on October 20.

“I wish to refer to the above subject and inform you with pleasure that His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. ‘Seyi Makinde has graciously approved your appointment as the New Aranyin of Iranyin in Surulere Local Government Area with effect from October 20th, 2023,” reads the letter titled “Re: Filling of vacant stool of Aranyin of Iranyin.”

The letter congratulated the incoming Aranyin a prosperous reign marked by advancement, peace, and socioeconomic development in Surulere.

The family has not yet set a date for Omogboye’s official installation, according to information obtained by Ebantel on Friday.
