How Olamide helped me achieve professional success – Zlatan Ibile

Nigerian rapper and singer Omoniyi Temidayo Raphael, better known by his stage name Zlatan Ibile, claims that his 2017 joint single “My Body,” featuring Olamide, marked a turning point in his career.

He described receiving a poem from the YBNL boss as “life-changing.”

In a recent interview with well-known YouTuber Korty EO, Zlatan talked about how, in spite of early setbacks, he persisted in pleading with Olamide via his social media direct messages in hopes of collaborating.

“Life-changing for me at that time was Olamide giving me a verse,” he stated. I would constantly follow him and beg him for a verse via direct message.

“He scheduled meetings for me twice, but they didn’t show up until the third time. I assumed we would be doing a rap song since he invited me to his place, but Olamide started singing an Afrobeats song called “My Body” out of nowhere. He took that action because he knew it would instantly turn me into a celebrity.

“My story changed when I recorded my verse,” the speaker stated.
