Teachers in Kogi State who were recently hired have been told to wait patiently for their paychecks.

The statement was released on Friday by Comrade (Dr.) Matthew Ranti Ojo, the chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools (ASUSS) in Kogi State.

Despite the union’s awareness of the current economic hardships hitting Nigerians, Comrade Ojo explained that technical difficulties were to blame for the delay in salary payment.

He claims that the problems have been resolved and that money will soon be deposited into the bank accounts of all secondary school teachers.

He sympathized with the instructors’ distress about the situation and urged them to keep their attention and energy on their students and their work.

Newly hired secondary school teachers’ pay is being held up owing to unforeseen circumstances, and we really regret this. Workers in modern-day Nigeria face a challenging economic climate, and the union is well aware of this.

That’s why the Union isn’t resting until we get their pay to them as quickly as possible. We’re working with the government to expedite the payment process. It’s all been signed and sealed, and they should start getting notifications from their various bank accounts any day now.

However, Ojo urged secondary school teachers in Kogi State to view their work as a divine calling, saying that they are important to any country’s progress and development as “nation builders.”

He assured teachers that the union would continue to work for their benefit and that they should be proud of their decision to become educators as long as he was in charge in Kogi State.
