Posted by The Super Eagles’ head coach, Jose Peseiro, is counting on Napoli striker Victor Osimhen to help his team win the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
Osimhen led the qualifiers in scoring with ten goals.
Much will be expected of the striker after he was named best men’s player at the CAF Awards last December.
Peseiro also hopes Osimhen wins the tournament’s top scorer prize.
“From our team, he (Osimhen) was the highest goal scorer during the qualifiers,” Peseiro said at a dinner on Friday night at the club’s training facility in Abu Dhabi to commemorate Osimhen’s coronation as Africa’s finest player.
“Of course, his teammates aided him in this endeavor.” “I hope and wish he wins the tournament as the leading goal scorer,” he continued.
