Nnamdi Kanu’s family claims the DSS refuses him access to visitors because of his failing health

The Department of State Services, or DSS, is allegedly preventing Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, from receiving visitors, according to his family.

According to Emmanuel Kanu, Kanu’s brother, the DSS refused the IPOB leader’s request for access so that they wouldn’t be aware of “his deteriorating health condition.”

The head of IPOB has been detained by the DSS in Abuja, even though the courts have ordered his release.

The IPOB leader was imprisoned by DSS after being apprehended again in Kenya and being extradited to Nigeria in June 2021.

After his return, the secret police were mandated by an Abuja Federal High Court to grant the Biafra activist twice weekly access to attorneys and family members.

Emmanuel bemoaned the fact that Kanu’s visitors were denied entry by the secret police.

Emmanuel thought the DSS’s action was questionable.

“DSS is preventing my brother’s visitors from visiting him, which is another egregious violation of an ongoing court order and an attempt on their part to hide my brother’s rapidly declining health.

“In my opinion, DSS has evolved into a private security firm that is run by the authority like a family business. He told reporters, “I don’t know why my brother is still being held against court orders.
