Brentford, of the Premier League, has re-signed Nigerian midfielder Frank Onyeka to a four-year contract with an additional year’s option.
In 2021, Onyeka moved to the Bees from FC Midtjylland of the Danish SuperLiga.
The 25-year-old has been a mainstay in west London’s Premier League, starting 41 games since his arrival.
Last year, the defensive midfielder dished out a pair of assists.
Onyeka’s new contract was a big deal for Brentford manager Thomas Frank.
Frank said on the club’s official website, “I’m very pleased that Frank has signed a new contract.”
He’s been a huge asset to the team as we’ve competed in the Premier League. I admire his enthusiasm, but injuries have prevented him from making even more of a leap in playing time over the past two seasons.
