The recipients of the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Awards for 2024 have been announced

The Recording Academy, which organizes the Grammys, has selected the recipients of this year’s Lifetime Achievement Awards.

Laurie Anderson, gospel vocal quartet The Clark Sisters, R&B vocalist Gladys Knight, hip-hop ensemble N.W.A, Donna Summer, and Tammy Wynette are among the awardees.

“This Special Merit Award is presented by the Recording Academy’s National Trustees by vote to performers who, during their lifetimes, have made creative contributions of outstanding artistic significance,” the Grammy organizers said in a statement on Friday.

Similarly, Peter Asher, DJ Kool Herc, and Joel Katz will receive the 2024 Trustees Award; Tom Kobayashi and Tom Scott will receive the Technical GRAMMY Award; and ‘Refugee,’ written by Somalian singer K’naan, Steve McEwan, and Gerald Eaton (a.k.a. Jarvis Church), will receive the Best Song For Social Change Award.

On February 3, 2024, the Special Merit Awards ceremony will be hosted at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, the main Grammy ceremony will take place in the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on February 4, 2024.

Nigerian performers Davido, Burna Boy, Tems, Ayra Starr, Asake, and Olamide have been nominated for Grammys in a variety of categories.
