Zulum distributes N221.7 million in food and other goods to 67,454 households in Borno

Babagana Umara Zulum, the governor of Borno State, oversaw the delivery of N221,760,000 in cash, food, and wrappers to around 67,454 underprivileged citizens of the state’s Ngala Local Government Area.

The distribution took held at five centers in Gamboru, Wulgo, and Ngala, three significant settlements with thousands of internally displaced people.

The practice began on Sunday, with 44,352 female recipients receiving N5,000 in cash and a wrapper, while 23,102 male heads of households received one bag of rice and one bag of maize grain on Monday.

“On Sunday, we handed non-food items to about 44,352 ladies in Ngala Local Government Area. Each person received N5,000 and a wrapper. This morning (Monday), we will distribute food to 23,103 male heads of families. Zulum stated that each of them will receive one bag of rice and one bag of corn to help them cope with their misery.

The governor thanked President Bola Tinubu for providing the Borno State Government with a contribution of around 10,000 sacks of rice via the Nigerian Customs Service.

The governor was accompanied by Barrister Kaka Shehu Lawan, senator for Borno Central, Engr Bukar Talba, a member of the House of Representatives, and Hon Bukar Abatcha, a member of the House of Assembly for the Ngala seat.
